Hot air balloon
A hot air balloon Dubai morning begins in the dark and ends with the desert glowing red beneath your basket. Pick one of three packages, all built on the same 45-60 minute sunrise flight with free pickup from your Dubai accommodation, then decide how long you want to stay out on the sand afterwards.
45-60 min flight · free hotel pickup
From AED 1,049 per person
45-60 min flight · camp breakfast
From AED 1,149 per person
45-60 min flight · safari and quad included
From AED 1,399 per person
Every package shares the part that matters most: a pre-dawn collection from your hotel, home or apartment, a transfer to the launch site, the inflation and briefing, and a flight of 45 to 60 minutes as the sun comes up. Coffee, tea and water are poured before take-off and again once you land, and every flyer is handed a printed flight certificate once the basket is down. What changes from one package to the next is simply what happens after touchdown.
At AED 1,049 per person, the Hot Air Balloon Standard Package takes you straight back after the flight, so you are home between 8:00 and 9:00 AM. For AED 1,149, the Hot Air Balloon Deluxe Package adds roughly an hour at a desert camp for food, camels and a falcon. Priced at AED 1,399, the Hot Air Balloon Premium Package carries on into a morning safari with dune bashing and a guided quad ride.
A quick rule helps most guests decide. If the flight itself is the reason you came, Standard keeps the rest of your day open. If you like the idea of sitting down to a long breakfast in the sand, Deluxe is the comfortable middle. If you were planning a separate safari anyway, Premium folds it into the same early start.
Your driver arrives at some point from 3:45 to 4:30 AM, depending on where you are staying, and we message the precise time on WhatsApp a day earlier so you can set one alarm and forget about it. You reach the launch field while the sky is still black.
Next, the crew lays the envelope across the sand, fills it with air and lights the burners until the balloon stands upright above the basket. A short safety briefing follows, covering how to board, how to stand during the flight and what to do for the landing.
Once you lift off, the desert opens up in every direction. You drift above the dunes as the first light turns them from grey to orange to deep red, and you stay aloft for 45 to 60 minutes, as the morning wind allows. After landing you get your certificate and another round of drinks before the next stage of your package begins.
For a hot air balloon Dubai trip, eat something light before pickup and keep your hands free. A phone on a strap or in a zipped pocket is the easiest way to take pictures from the basket.
Balloons need calm, cool air, which is why every launch is timed for dawn and why the season has a gap. There are no flights in June, July or August, and the first launches of the new season take place on 1 September. The flying season runs September to May, and October to April tends to give the steadiest mornings.
Even within the season, wind can stop a launch on the morning itself. Safety always wins that decision. If we have to call off your flight because of the weather, you can pick another morning without paying more, or claim a refund under the rules in our cancellation policy.
Because of this, we suggest booking the flight early in your stay rather than on your last morning. A spare day or two in your plans gives you room to fly later in the week if the first attempt is grounded.
If your visit falls between June and August, the desert is still open for other rides. A morning or evening desert safari gives you the dunes at a cooler hour, and our dune buggy sessions operate year-round, with dawn sessions in the hot months.
Adults aged 12 to 80 book at the adult rate, and children aged 7 to 11 fly alongside a paying adult. Under-7s are not able to fly, and neither are expectant mothers at any point of pregnancy. Let us know each person's age at the time of booking so the basket can be planned around your group.
The basket is split into separate compartments, and only a set number of people go up on each launch, so expect to fly alongside other guests. Even so, couples, families and friends booked together stay in the same compartment.
Dress for a cold start. It is cool before dawn in every flying month, so bring a warm layer you can take off later. Closed-toe shoes are recommended at the launch site, and on the Premium package they are required for the dune bashing and quad sections.
On the Deluxe and Premium packages, a short transfer after landing brings you to a desert camp where the gourmet breakfast buffet is laid out. The spread mixes pastries and fresh breads with cold platters, parfaits, fruit and hot dishes such as eggs and sausage, plus a vegan option, all served with juice, coffee, tea and infused water.
Guests then take a short camel ride and watch a falconry display, in which a trained falcon comes out with its handler and you can pose for photos with both. If anyone in your group has dietary needs, mention them when you book so the buffet works for everyone.
Press Book now on any package card to open our secure booking site, choose your date and the number of people, and pay online by card in AED. Your advance payment holds the seats, and a written confirmation follows by email. You can also send your dates on WhatsApp to +971 52 440 9525 and we will check availability with you first.
Seats on each launch are limited, so book a few days ahead for a hot air balloon Dubai flight in the busy winter months. For other ways to reach us, see our contact page, and for questions about the other desert rides, our full FAQ covers buggies, quads, safaris, dirt bikes and camels.
Photography and video add-ons are available on request and are not part of the package price, and tips for the crew are always optional. Everything else listed on the package cards is already covered by the price per person.
Questions, answered
The Standard Package is AED 1,049 per person, Deluxe is AED 1,149 and Premium is AED 1,399. Every price is per person and already includes free pickup from your Dubai accommodation, the 45-60 minute flight, drinks without limit and a flight certificate. The higher packages add a camp breakfast, a camel ride and falconry, and Premium also adds dune bashing and a quad ride.
Balloons can only fly safely in calm, cool air, and that air is found around first light. We collect guests from 3:45 to 4:30 AM so the crew can inflate the balloon and launch as the sun rises. Your exact pickup time arrives by WhatsApp the day before, based on where you are staying in Dubai.
No. Balloon flights pause every year from June to August because of the summer weather, and they resume on 1 September. The season runs from September to May, with October to April usually giving the most settled mornings. In summer you can still ride the dunes on a desert safari or an early buggy session.
Yes. Kids from 7 to 11 fly with a paying adult, and anyone aged 12 to 80 books as an adult. Children under 7 cannot fly. Share each passenger's age at booking, so we can plan the basket compartments and keep your family together.
If we cancel because conditions are not safe, you can rebook a later morning free of charge or request a refund as described in our cancellation policy. The decision is made on the morning, so it helps to book your flight early in your trip and keep another morning free in case you need it.
Breakfast comes with the Deluxe and Premium packages, not with Standard. After landing you sit down at a desert camp to a buffet of pastries, breads, parfaits, fruit, cold platters and hot dishes, with a vegan choice and juice, coffee, tea or infused water to drink. A camel ride and a falconry display follow the meal.
Usually yes. The basket is divided into separate compartments and each launch carries a limited number of guests, so you share the flight with other passengers. Couples, families and friends who book together stay in the same compartment for the whole flight. A private vehicle upgrade is not part of the Premium package.
Wear layers, because it is cool before dawn even in the warmer flying months, and you can remove a jacket once the sun is up. Closed-toe shoes are recommended at the launch site and are required on Premium for the dune bashing and quad ride. Keep your phone on a strap or in a zipped pocket.
