Cancellation policy
Holiday plans move. This cancellation policy sets out how payment, refunds, fees, weather cancellations and date changes work for anything you book with Dune Buggy Dubai, from buggies and quads to safaris, balloons, the dirt bike and camels.
Payment and confirmation
Bookings are paid on our secure booking site, where your card details are handled by the payment gateway. We accept Visa and MasterCard, and there is no surcharge or service fee for paying by credit or debit card.
A reservation needs full payment by card at the time of booking. Once it is paid, your written confirmation is sent by email, within 48 hours at the latest.
How refunds work
Some rules apply to every refund, whatever the reason for it.
- Service charges and taxes cannot be refunded.
- Nothing is refunded once a tour or service has begun, or for any package, meal, accommodation or other service already used.
- Money only goes back to the card or payment method you originally used.
- Time-specific coupon tickets, events, attractions and accommodation sold as non-refundable stay non-refundable in every case.
- A 5% payment-processing fee is taken off every refund. It matches the charge our payment gateway keeps on the original transaction, and it applies to all cancellations and refunds.
- Refunds reach your original payment method within 7 to 10 business days, and never later than 30 days after the transaction date.
If we cancel your tour
Sometimes we have to call off an activity ourselves, for example because of a sandstorm, rain, strong wind or another situation outside our control. In that case you receive a refund minus the 5% payment-processing fee.
You can also choose not to take a refund and instead switch to the next open date without paying anything more. Balloon flights need calm air at dawn, and for every activity it is safety that decides whether it runs.
Bookings of fewer than four people
As a general rule, cancelling a booking with Dune Buggy Dubai carries a 10% cancellation fee, and an individual supplier or tour operator may add charges of its own, as shown on your voucher. When you cancel, we email you the total of any fees. Whether a fee is charged or waived then depends on the time-based tiers below.
- Cancel 96 hours (4 days) or more before the scheduled departure: no cancellation fee, so you are refunded in full apart from the 5% payment-processing fee.
- Cancel at least 48 hours before the scheduled departure: a 50% cancellation fee.
- Cancel within 24 hours of the scheduled departure: a 100% cancellation fee.
- Beyond these tiers, nothing is refunded for cancellations made less than 96 hours ahead or for a missed pickup.
- Event, attraction and coupon tickets are non-refundable in all cases, and some accommodation is too, depending on the policy printed on the voucher.
- Any refund is completed within 30 days of the transaction date at the most.
Group bookings of four or more
A group booking means four or more people (pax) on a single booking. Different fees apply to these reservations, and any refund is completed within 30 days of the transaction date at the most.
- From 7 days before the tour departs: a 50% cancellation fee.
- 5 days or less before the tour departs: a 100% cancellation fee.
Changing your date
Moving your booking to another date is free of charge, subject to availability, and it carries no cancellation fee. This applies to buggy, quad, safari, dirt bike, balloon and camel bookings alike.
Let us know as early as you can. Send your booking details and the new date or time you would like by WhatsApp (+971 52 440 9525), and we confirm the change with you in that chat.
How to request a cancellation
We accept cancellation requests by email only, so that both sides have a written, time-stamped record. Write to info@dune-buggy-dubai.net and include your name, the tour you booked and its date.
Your cancellation counts as received at the date and time your email arrives in our inbox, and that moment decides which fee tier applies. We answer every cancellation email with a confirmation, so please wait for that reply before you treat the booking as cancelled.
