Our one dirt bike model is the KTM Dirt Bike 450 CC, a full-size, motocross-style machine with a clutch and gears. It is the only ride in our line-up made for people who already know two wheels, and that shapes how we run every dirt bike Dubai session.
Before you book, you should be at ease handling and balancing a tall motocross bike. In practice that means you have used a clutch, you can pull away cleanly and you are happy standing on the pegs over rough ground. The ride is not for children, and the desert is no place to learn motorcycling from the start.
If that rules someone in your group out, they still have plenty to ride. Our quads and buggies are automatic, with no clutch to think about, and the same red dunes sit under every machine we run.
The KTM is booked by the hour, not in the 30 minute slots used for buggies and quads. You choose 1, 2 or 3 hours when you enquire, and your guide paces the ride to how comfortable you feel, so the length mostly comes down to fitness and background.
An hour suits a rider who wants a first taste of sand on a big bike. Two hours leaves time to settle in and then ride with more rhythm. Three hours is a long stretch in the saddle and makes most sense for fit riders who spend time off-road at home.
Sand riding is hard physical work. It tires your arms and legs faster than tarmac, and the sun adds to the load, so lean towards the shorter session when in doubt. Planning a summer ride? Pick an early-morning start.
We do not publish a fixed rate for the KTM. The figure moves with the length of your ride, the size of your group and what is free on the day, so it is price on request. Send your date, session length and number of riders on WhatsApp and you will get a same-day quote.
The quote covers the bike for your full session, goggles, gloves, body armor and a full-face helmet, a pre-ride safety briefing, a guide who escorts you the entire way and unlimited mineral water. Three things fall outside it: hotel pickup and drop-off, riding boots, and photo or video packages, which we can try to arrange if you ask.
Once you accept the quote, you settle the dirt bike Dubai fee upfront with a card on our secure online form, in dirhams. Your written confirmation then lists the date, start time and where to meet, so nothing is left to guesswork.
Each rider is kitted out with a full-face helmet and goggles, plus gloves and body armor, all adjusted before the ride starts. None of it costs extra.
Boots are the one item we do not supply. If you own motocross boots, bring them along. If not, ride in sturdy closed-toe shoes that cover as much of the ankle as possible; sandals and slides will not do.
Leave loose scarves at the hotel and keep your phone in a zipped pocket. The KTM is off limits for anyone who is pregnant, recovering from recent surgery or managing a neck or back complaint.
You make your own way to the meeting point at Al Badayer, where Dubai gives way to open desert in the east, a 45 to 60 minute road trip from Downtown. The pin comes with your booking confirmation, and there is parking if you drive. Prefer not to? A paid transfer is another option.
The guide begins with a briefing on the route, hand signals and desert conditions. Next your gear goes on and gets a second check. Out on the sand, the guide leads you over dune crests and across the flats, setting a pace that matches your riding, and stays with you for the whole session.
To finish, you stop for a few photos on the dunes, ride back to the meeting point and hand in your gear. Groups are welcome, and every rider gets a bike of their own, so just tell us how many of you are coming.
No driving licence is needed for dirt bike Dubai riding with us, because the sessions take place on private desert land and never on public roads.
The KTM goes out daily between 5:00 AM and 8:00 PM, and you can book at any hour, day or night. The cooler months from October to April bring daytime highs of about 24 to 33°C, which suit a longer session well. Evening slots near sunset are the first to go, particularly at weekends.
Summer needs a little more planning. Between May and September we keep riders out of the midday heat, and in July and August the early window from 5 to 8 AM is the one to aim for.
A day or two of notice is usually enough. For weekends in December and January and for UAE public holidays, allow 4 to 7 days. When blowing sand or rain makes riding unsafe, we cancel the session ourselves; rebook for free on a date that suits you, or ask for a refund as our cancellation policy describes.
Nobody in your group needs to sit out. The quad bikes begin at AED 200 a head for half an hour, and the COBRA's fenced area suits children from 5 to 11. A dune buggy puts an adult at the wheel with friends or family beside them, from AED 600 per buggy. Both are automatic, so the only controls are throttle, brake and steering.
Anyone who would rather not drive at all can join a desert safari, where hotel pickup is part of the price. Answers to general questions about booking and the day itself are on our FAQ page.
Questions, answered
Not if a geared motorcycle would be new to you. This 450 CC KTM is a full-size motocross bike with a clutch, so you need to be comfortable controlling one before you book. The guide helps with sand technique and sets the pace, but the basics of riding should already be in place. Complete beginners usually have more fun on a quad or in a buggy.
Because the right figure changes with how long you ride, how many riders are in your group and what is available on your date. We quote it on request instead of printing one number. Message us on WhatsApp with those three details and you will receive a same-day quote, so you know the exact amount before you pay anything.
Your kit is a full-face helmet, a pair of goggles, gloves and body armor, included in the price and fitted before you ride. Riding boots are not supplied, so pack your own if you have them, or wear sturdy closed-toe shoes. Long, light clothing under the armor protects you from sun and sand and keeps you cooler than you might expect.
Choose a session of 1, 2 or 3 hours. Your guide escorts you for the whole time and adjusts the pace to your comfort. One hour suits a first ride on sand, while the longer sessions suit fit riders with off-road experience. If you cannot decide between two lengths, the shorter one is usually the wiser choice in the desert heat.
At our meeting point at Al Badayer, which sits 45 to 60 minutes from Downtown by car. The exact location pin arrives with your booking confirmation. Hotel pickup is not included, but a transfer can be added at extra cost. Our Business Bay office at Lake Central Tower handles bookings only, and no ride starts there.
Yes. Groups are welcome, and every rider gets their own KTM. Tell us how many people are riding and a little about each person's experience when you ask for a quote, because group size affects the price and helps the guide plan the route. Friends who do not ride motorcycles can book a quad or a buggy instead.
No licence of any kind is needed. The sessions run on private desert land, not public roads, so road licensing rules do not apply. What you do need is real riding ability: you should be comfortable with a clutch, gear changes and a tall bike before you arrive, because the guide is there to lead the way rather than teach the basics.
