Quad biking at Al Badayer

Quad biking Dubai: three quads, two kinds of terrain

Quad biking Dubai with us means your own machine, a guide at your side and real red sand at Al Badayer. Take the COBRA in a fenced practice area, the Single Seater over open dunes, or the Yamaha Grizzly for the most power, with prices from AED 200 per rider for each 30 minute ride.

Pick your quad bike

Which quad suits your group?

Choosing well starts with the rider rather than the engine. Our three machines match three levels of confidence, and each one is a single-rider quad with a guide close by. Because every person sits on a bike of their own, the price is per rider, unlike our buggies, which are priced per vehicle.

The COBRA Single Seater Quad Bike is priced at AED 200 for half an hour. Compact and easy to handle, it never leaves a fenced practice area, so it is the right first step for children aged 5 to 11 and for adults who feel uneasy about open sand.

Priced at AED 250, the Single Seater Quad Bike takes adults past the fence and into the open desert, riding in line behind a guide over the dunes. You need no previous experience; the briefing gives you everything required for a first ride.

The Yamaha Grizzly Quad Bike, at AED 350, tops our quad range for size and power. It covers the same open terrain, so it pays off most for people who have sat on a quad before and want extra pull on the climbs.

  • Kids aged 5 to 11 and nervous beginners: the COBRA, inside the fence
  • Adults trying the open desert for the first time: the Single Seater
  • Returning or confident riders after more power: the Yamaha Grizzly

Fenced practice area or open desert

The fenced area is a closed loop of sand reserved for the COBRA. Speeds stay modest, the boundary is always in sight and the guide is never far away. A parent or guardian waits at the edge while a child rides, so they can watch every lap and wave from the fence.

The open desert feels very different. You follow your guide in a short convoy across real dune shapes, with climbs, crests and flat stretches in between. The guide holds a pace the least experienced rider can manage, which keeps a mixed group riding together instead of strung out across the sand.

Plenty of families use both settings on one visit. The younger ones take their 30 minutes on the COBRA while the adults head out on Single Seaters, and nobody waits around for long. Send us the ages and riding experience of everyone coming on WhatsApp and we will suggest how to split the group.

What quad biking Dubai costs

Our published quad biking Dubai prices cover one rider for a 30 minute session: AED 200 on the COBRA, AED 250 on the Single Seater and AED 350 on the Yamaha Grizzly. Each covers the guide, your fuel, a helmet, goggles and gloves, the pre-ride briefing and mineral water without limit.

Longer rides of 60 or 120 minutes run on all three quads. Their rates are not listed online; ask on WhatsApp and you will get a figure for your date.

A few things sit outside the price. A personal photo or video service is extra, tips for your guide are optional and hotel pickup is separate. Most riders come out by car or taxi, and anyone who would rather be collected can ask us to book a paid transfer.

Want a quad ride inside a longer day out? Our evening safari that adds a half-hour ATV ride costs AED 375 per person and adds hotel pickup, dune bashing, a BBQ buffet dinner and live shows. The Premium balloon package also finishes its desert morning with a guided 30 minute quad ride.

Quad rides for children and teens

Kids between 5 and 11 get a COBRA each within the fenced loop, and a parent or guardian stands at the boundary throughout. Under-fives cannot ride a quad at all. Message your child's age and height to us on WhatsApp before booking so we can confirm the COBRA is a good fit.

The open-desert quads, meaning the Single Seater and the Grizzly, are for adult riders. If your teenager has outgrown the kids' area, message us with their age and size and we will be frank about what works. Families with younger children can also look at a dune buggy, where an adult drives and the kids ride alongside as passengers.

Gear, clothing and what to bring

You do not need any riding kit of your own. Helmet, goggles and gloves come with every quad price; the crew sizes them for you before the briefing and checks the fit before an engine starts.

Quad biking is not advised if you are pregnant, have had surgery recently or live with a back or neck condition. The dunes are bumpy even at a gentle pace, and a quad passes every jolt straight up through the seat.

  • Closed-toe shoes that fasten well; sandals come off on rough ground
  • Long, light layers that shield arms and legs from sun and flying sand
  • High-SPF sunscreen, especially for the fenced area, which has no shade
  • Sunglasses for the drive out, plus a light jacket on winter evenings
  • A zipped pocket for your phone, and no loose scarves

How a quad session runs

Each booking comes with a written confirmation showing the date, time and a map pin for the meeting point at Al Badayer, which most people reach within 45 to 60 minutes of leaving Downtown. Drivers will find parking on site.

On arrival, the guide gives a safety briefing of about ten to fifteen minutes on the throttle, brakes, turning, hand signals and spacing. Your gear goes on, then you ride the time you booked, either around the fence or behind the guide in the open dunes. A few photos with the guide round things off.

Plan on spending about 90 minutes in total at the meeting point for a half-hour ride. The quads are automatic, with no clutch or gears to learn, which is a big reason quad biking Dubai suits first-timers so well. No driving licence is needed either, because every ride stays on private desert land rather than public roads.

Should a sandstorm or rain make the dunes unsafe, the session is called off by us. You then pick another day without paying more, or claim a refund on the terms of our cancellation policy.

When to book your ride

The first quads go out at 5:00 AM and the last session wraps up by 8:00 PM, every day of the week, while bookings are taken 24/7. October to April is the main season for quad biking Dubai, when daytime temperatures usually sit between about 24 and 33°C, so any slot on the clock works. Sunset rides fill up first, above all on Fridays and Saturdays.

Between May and September, the middle of the day is best avoided. In July and August we point riders to the 5 to 8 AM slots, while the sand is still cool.

Most dates can be booked comfortably one to two days in advance. Weekends in December and January, plus UAE public holidays, need 4 to 7 days of notice. Hoping to ride today? A WhatsApp message sent before noon usually gets you onto an afternoon session. You pay ahead online by Visa or Mastercard in AED, which locks in your slot.

Quad, buggy or dirt bike?

A quad gives you handlebars, a machine to yourself and a ride that keeps your whole body busy. A buggy gives you a steering wheel, a roll cage, harnesses and a seat for a friend. Riders who already handle a geared motorbike can step up to the KTM 450 CC dirt bike, booked in 1, 2 or 3 hour sessions with the price given on request.

Groups that cannot agree do not have to. Some can ride quads while others share a buggy, and everyone meets back at the start to compare photos. Common questions about all our rides are answered on the FAQ page, and the contact page lists every way to reach our booking office.

Questions, answered

Quad bikes: FAQ

Which quad is best for a complete beginner?

For a first ride, pick the COBRA or the Single Seater. The COBRA keeps to a fenced practice area and suits nervous adults and children aged 5 to 11. The Single Seater rides the open desert behind a guide and needs no experience, only careful attention during the briefing. Save the Yamaha Grizzly for when you have ridden a quad before.

Is the quad price per person or per quad?

Per rider. Every person sits on their own single-rider quad, so a group of three pays three prices. For 30 minutes, the COBRA costs AED 200, a Single Seater costs AED 250 and a Yamaha Grizzly costs AED 350. Buggies work the other way round: they are priced per vehicle, however many seats are filled.

How old do you have to be to ride a quad?

Kids from 5 to 11 ride the COBRA within the fence, with a parent or guardian waiting at the edge, and nobody under five can ride. The open-desert Single Seater and Yamaha Grizzly are for adult riders. For teenagers in between, send us their age and height on WhatsApp and we will tell you which option suits them.

Do I need a licence to ride a quad at Al Badayer?

No licence is required. The quads run on private desert land rather than public roads, so road licensing does not apply. You need no previous experience either. The quads are automatic, and a guide briefs you on the throttle, brakes and hand signals before you set off, then stays with you for the entire ride.

Are longer quad sessions available?

Yes. Every quad comes in 60 and 120 minute versions besides the standard 30. Only the 30 minute prices appear online, so ask us on WhatsApp for the longer rates on your date. Many first-timers find half an hour plenty, while confident riders often want the extra time to explore deeper into the dunes.

Is hotel pickup included with quad biking?

Not with the quad packages. Most quad riders get to Al Badayer by car or taxi, a 45 to 60 minute trip from Downtown, using the pin from their confirmation, and the meeting point has parking. Mention it while booking and we will add a paid transfer. If you want collection included, look at the evening safari package with its 30 minute quad ride.

What if a sandstorm hits on my ride day?

We call the ride off ourselves when a sandstorm or rain turns the desert unsafe. From there you can move to another date for no additional charge, or request your money back under the terms of our cancellation policy. Keep your phone close on the day of your ride so you see any message from us straight away.

Can two people share one quad?

No. All three of our quads are single-rider machines, so each person rides their own. If you would rather sit next to a partner or have a child beside you, book a dune buggy instead: the 2-seat Polaris RZR is AED 600 per buggy for 30 minutes and the 4-seat model is AED 800, with an adult at the wheel.
